Sub-$7,000 Lightweight EV Sportscar Concept Promises Ultra-Affordable Electric Fun

In a refreshing contrast to heavy 6,000-pound electric SUVs, automotive startup Pulse Motors has debuted a ultra-lightweight EV sportscar concept priced at just $6,800. Weighing under 1,200 lbs, the two-seater vehicle uses a minimalist tubular spaceframe and recycled composite body panels.

Equipped with a compact 20 kWh lithium-iron-phosphate (LFP) battery pack, the sports car achieves an impressive 150 miles of city range due to its low curb weight and aerodynamic drag coefficient.

Pulse Motors plans to begin low-volume production next year, aiming to spark a new category of lightweight, affordable enthusiast electric vehicles.
