Apple Machine Learning Research has introduced DeepAmbigQA, a benchmark of ambiguous multi-hop questions for measuring how completely large language models answer open-domain queries. Models with search tools often fail on questions that require disambiguating shared titles and integrating evidence across large sets of entities, such as identifying which actors from a film named Heat have won at least one Academy Award. OpenAI is expanding ChatGPT access for free and Go tier users, removing text chat rate limits so those accounts can have unlimited text conversations with the chatbot. OpenAI is arguing that Apple’s own security practices undercut its trade secrets case, according to newly filed court exhibits reported by TechCrunch. The company points to Apple’s security and offboarding practices, including an instance in which an Apple manager was allowed to access a former engineer’s iCloud account after he left the company.
